Privacy policy
Last updated: October 23, 2026
This policy explains how Futurist IP, a corporation incorporated in Ontario, Canada ("we", "us", "our"), handles personal information collected through clearsred.com (the "Site"). Futurist IP is responsible for the personal information described in this policy. We handle personal information in line with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).
1. What we collect
- Information you send us. When you use a contact form, we collect what you enter: for example your name, work email, company, role, province, fiscal year-end, approximate R&D spend, whether you've claimed before, and your message.
- Page context with a form. With a form submission we also receive the page you sent it from, the first page you visited in that session and the referring site, so we know which content was useful.
- Usage analytics. We use Vercel Web Analytics, which records aggregated page views and events (for example, that a calculator was used or a button was clicked) without cookies and without identifying you personally. Tool events record only broad categories (such as a credit range or province), never the figures you type in.
- Free tools. Calculators and checkers run in your browser. The numbers and answers you enter are not sent to us.
- Technical logs. Our hosting provider processes standard technical data (such as IP address and browser type) to deliver the Site, prevent abuse and keep it secure.
2. How we use it
We use personal information to reply to your inquiry, discuss and provide services you ask about, understand which content and tools are useful, keep the Site secure, and meet legal obligations. We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for unrelated marketing without your consent.
3. Service providers
We use trusted providers to run the Site: Vercel (hosting and analytics) and Resend (delivery of form submissions by email). They process information on our behalf and only as needed to provide their services. Some providers store or process data outside Canada, including in the United States, where it may be accessible to authorities under local law.
4. Local browser storage
The Site uses your browser's session storage to remember the first page you visited during a visit, so that it can be included if you submit a form. It is cleared when you close the tab. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
5. Retention
We keep inquiry information for as long as needed to respond and to manage any resulting business relationship, and generally no longer than 24 months after our last contact unless the law requires longer. Analytics are kept in aggregated form.
6. Security
We use reasonable safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and restricted access. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so please don't send sensitive documents through the contact form.
7. Your choices and rights
You can ask to access or correct the personal information we hold about you, withdraw consent to our use of it (subject to legal or contractual limits), or ask us to delete it. To make a request, use our contact page. If you're not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
8. Children
The Site is intended for businesses and is not directed to children.
9. Changes
We may update this policy. The "Last updated" date shows the current version.
10. Contact
For privacy questions or requests, please reach us through our contact page.
